As a follow-up to this post (
) I thought I'd put together a synopsis of the great ideas and experiences shared by folks in how to hire the best when looking for folks with Eloqua experience to join your team.
- Prepare solid technical questions.
- Provide a case study example (without the solution), and see if the candidate can come up with a good solution.
- Have a Branching Assessment with Eloqua related questions that HR could use to weed out people who shouldn't make it to the next round.
- Look for problem solving and skill.
- Never take their Eloqua University credentials at face value. They shouldn't be excluded from any tests and questions that you'd pose to any other candidate.
- If they have no prior Eloqua experience, give them 20-30 minutes to read an Eloqua manual for creating a segment and then deploying an email and have them actually send a test email to you. Helps you gauge how quickly someone can learn.
- Even for those with experience, but applying for more senior positions, sit them in front of Eloqua and get them to build a washing machine, CRM integration, etc.
- Get someone with business skills and understanding in addition to the technical Eloqua skills.
- Look for strong technical acumen.
- Hire folks who have coded before, with technical backgrounds.
