How to build brand recognition in 4:58 minutes

I love a good commercial or any piece of advertising that is well done. I came across the newest WestJet video today and they sure now how it's done.

 

  1. Do something good, like REALLY GOOD for your customers.
    What is your business all about? What does it do to help customers? Go back to the root of how important your product or service can be to your customers, solve a problem, and bring happiness or whatever the strongest emotion can be. Any charitable endeavor touches people. It not only shows the organization is willing to care beyond the everyday routine, it also humanizes the company through the employees who go the extra mile.
  2. Know your customers and pick a compelling story you want to tell. Bring the story to life. Not all marketing teams have a big video production budget but be creative with what you show, how you show it.
  3. Time the release. Videos can go viral in less than a few hours so time is of the essence. Typically, a holiday, or a celebration of some sort will increase the impact. Social media truly is your BFF, when you do it right. Watch and measure the results, and enjoy the good.
