I have a customer from Mexico who submitted a form. The email addressed entered had a special character above the letter "i" in their last name " tínxx@xxxx.mx ." The contact went unmapped in the E9 ESM. When I tried to create the contact record for the customer, Eloqua prevented the creation saying the email address was invalid. When I changed the letter with the special character to a normal "i" Eloqua allowed the creation of the contact record.
I thought Eloqua handled special characters.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a way to ensure that Eloqua can handle such characters in an email address rather than just setting the contact as "unmapped?"
