Hi all, I have an opportunity at the Business Development Bank of Canada in Montreal, QC, Canada for an Advisor, Campaign Management and Marketing Technology.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Advisor, Campaign Management and Marketing Technology, is responsible for creating and executing a large number of targeted email campaigns. The candidate will help BDC to fully optimize the use of leading-edge marketing automation software to deliver a relevant customer experience and, in turn, improve sales effectiveness.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, execute and analyze national and regional email campaigns.
  • Manage the email channel to maximize email deliverability and audience engagement using advanced strategies to optimize marketing and transactional email performance (e.g., multivariate testing, call to action optimization, etc.).
  • Ensure all email marketing processes, assets, best practices, guidelines, and implicit knowledge are documented and published.
  • Contribute to develop a strategy to increase support and adoption of campaign management processes, and lead its implementation. 
  • Act as an expert user and administrator of marketing automation technology (e.g., Oracle Eloqua Marketing Cloud) by leveraging best practices and mastering advanced features.
  • Support data integration between the marketing automation platform and other systems by mastering the data schema of marketing systems.
  • Develop quality control mechanisms for field email campaigns, marketing materials and newsletters by preparing, reviewing the content of and testing campaign collateral.
  • Contribute to the development of analytics and reporting for email channel operations and campaign management, while monitoring metrics and providing proactive insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure continuous management of risks associated with digital regulations, legislation, industry guidance and technology, in cooperation with the legal and information security teams (e.g., by limiting storage of and access to sensitive information).
  • Proactively advise marketing teams on requirements, constraints and optimization scenarios for email channel operations.


PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, computer science, software engineering or related discipline
  • Five to seven years of experience in marketing or in working on projects with a marketing component (such as web, technology or mobile projects)
  • Experience in managing, cleaning and optimizing large databases of contacts and email campaigns
  • Experience in a large organization (experience in a financial services, insurance, marketing or technology/management consulting organization) is a definite asset

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Solid knowledge of web user experience (UX) design, and usability testing of web pages and emails
  • Knowledge of capabilities and constraints pertaining to email deliverability, web forms, servers and databases
  • Proficiency with HTML5 / CSS3, responsive design and cross-platform design strategies
  • Knowledge of Oracle Eloqua Marketing Cloud and/or Microsoft Dynamics CRM is an asset
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in translating complex data into compelling business implications
  • Excellent business acumen with a dedication to delivering a client-centric experience
  • Superior command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work under pressure and to organize work within deadlines
  • Bilingualism preferred (English and French)
