Eloqua Form Submission Error

Hello all,

I was running into trouble with a landing page that contained an HTML form submitting to an Eloqua form. Luckily, our awesome Senior Product Specialist, Michael Seto found and corrected the problem quickly and I thought I'd share this here in case anyone runs into this in the future. Here's the email string:

Hi Michael,

I have a landing page in Eloqua that contains an HTML form that submits to a form in Eloqua. When the user fills out the form and submits it, they receive this error:

(An error has occured in processing this form. The information needed to submit this form was incomplete. If you are submitting this form from an email, please open the email in a browser and submit the form again.)

I’ve checked all the fields in the form and the landing page and everything seems to look OK. I also ran the External Form Test in Eloqua and it passed with flying colors. So, I can’t figure out why we’re getting this error. Can you please look into it and see what I might be missing or if there’s something broken in Eloqua?

Thanks so much!

This error message is only shown if the elqFormname field value does not match a form in Eloqua or is missing from the layout. OR if the elqSiteID is missing or does not match your siteID.

You have the elqSiteID hidden field in the source code twice so Eloqua combines the value, comma delimited. so we are submitting a form to 927,927. I have removed the extra field and tested, it works to submit.
