We have a concern that someone may select the CAN-SPAM opt-out option in our footer but either have regrests or have done so by mistake. Which of these options is both legal and at the same time a better user experience. My understanding is that once someone unsubscribes there cannot be an interim page, that the opt-out must be immediate to be legal, so option #1 below would be prescribed, but curious what others are doing, if anything...
- The user clicks the OPT-OUT link (If you no longer wish to receive any emails from Analog Devices, please click here.) and gets to a page which says something like “you have successfully opted out from all emails from Analog Devices. If you made this selection in error, click here to be placed back on our active email list”
- The user clicks the OPT-OUT link (If you no longer wish to receive any emails from Analog Devices, please click here.) and gets to a page which reads “are you sure, this will prevent you from receiving any more emails from us” then has two choices "Yes, I no longer wish to get your emails" or "No, I do wish to receive valuable updates from Analog Devices by email"
