Unique Opens Reporting Discrepancy?

Hi Everyone,

I have discovered a major discrepancy within Eloqua Reporting and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Eloqua is currently trying to figure out the issue.

I have an e-mail campaign and tried to get a list of all the Unique Opens  (email addresses) by using the Email Open List Report. This report gives you a list of Email Addresses that opened the email (each address acts as 1 Unique Open)

I first usually run the Email Group Overview  Report first to get the total number of Unique Opens.

For this example I ran both reports and got the following numbers

     E-mail Group Overview Report

          Unique Opens  for E-mail "A" - 500

    E-mail Open List Report

          Unique Opens for E-mail "A" - 600

I have multiple e-mails within the E-mail group and have seen the above discrepancy for a few of them. The remaining e-mails show the Open List Report having less Unique Opens then the Email Group Overview Report.

Eloqua tried saying that I deleted contacts so that is why contacts could be missing from the Email Open List Report, yet if that were the case why is there the opposite discrepancy?

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this kind of thing.

Thanks

Tom
