Overview
Whether you're dreaming up the next award winning campaign that will contend for a Markie or creating a highly engaging email using responsive design, one area of the Eloqua application that you likely interact with on regular basis is the folder choosers. Recognizing that as the number of assets you store in Eloqua increases - the navigation, discoverability and user experience of how you manage content in Eloqua will become increasingly important. With the Summer '13 release, we're introducing the first phase of several exciting enhancements to the choosers - all with the goal of helping you find what you're looking for quickly.
General Performance & UI Improvements
- Optimizations to the way the application makes calls to the server to retrieve folders and files which will help the UI feel much "zippier" when scrolling through the choosers.
- New clean skin with refreshed icons and a new UI treatment for breadcrumbs.
- Consistent full date format that always show the day, month, year and time for easier sorting and searching of files and folders.
Display More and Jump to Top
- Introduction of paged search results to limit the number of items initially being displayed, with the ability to "display more" results as needed or provide an opportunity to refine your search further.
- Option to quickly "jump to top" from a set of search results.
Updated Canned Searches
- The introduction of the launch pad's several releases ago provided an option to display a list of your 5 most recently accessed items. We've extended this feature to the chooser as a "Recently Accessed by Me" canned search and doubled the number of items being tracked to 10, so your most accessed items are handy when you need them.
- The new "Recently Modified" canned search replaces the individual searches for recently modified "today", "yesterday" and "past week", so you can quickly see which items have been modified by any user.
- Clicking on any file or folder in the search results or canned searches will now show its folder path. Very useful if you have multiple files or folders with the same name or want to navigate to other related assets which may be in the same folder.
Improvements to Sorting Columns
- Ability to sort on the "Status" column for campaigns.
- Ability to sort columns ascending, descending or clear column sort and reset to the default file / folder sort.
- Click once to select the column
- Click twice to sort ascending on the selected column
- Click three times to sort descending on the selected column
- Click four times to return to the original file/folder sort
Remembering Last Folder Location
- To help you save valuable time, each time you open or save an asset using the choosers, it will remember your folder location. Your folder location will be persistent for the current session and reset back to the root once you log out.
